The Indian Navy invites final year engineering students to join Indian Navy as short service commission officers in Technical / Executive branches under University Entry Scheme(UES) Course Commencing - July 2012

Eligibility: Applicant should be studying in recognised University with one of the following discipline and should have obtained a minimum of 60% aggregate marks till pre final year(upto VI semester) 

Technical Branch (Stream in B.E / B.Tech.) 

• Engineering Branch (Men Only): Mechanical, Marine, Automotive, Mechatronics, Industrial & Production, Metallurgy, Aeronautical / Aerospace, Control & Production 
• Electrical Branch (Men Only):Electrical, Electronics, Tele Communications, Instrumentations, Instrumenation & Control, Electronics & Instrumenations, Power Engineering, Control System Engineering, Power Electronics, Computer Science, Infromation Technology, Avionics.
• Navel Architecture(NA) Cadre(Men & Women): Mechanical, Civil, Aeronautical, Aro Space, Metallurgy, Navel Architectutre.

Executive Branch (X)(Stream in B.E / B.Tech.) 

• General Service (Men Only):Mechanical, Marine, Aeronautical, Aero Space, Production, Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Control, Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication.

Age: 19-24 years i.e. born between 2 Jul 1988 and 1 July 1993, Both dates inclusive.

Physical Standards: Height and Weight: Minimum height Male - 157 cms and 152 cms for standards.
Eye Sight: Technical branch: 6/24 correctable to 6/ 6 in each ey with glasses. (ii) General Service (Executive). 6/12, 6/12 correctable to 6/6 in each eye with glasses. The candidates sould not be colour/night blind.

Application deadline: July 18, 2011

Training: Commences from July 2012 at Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala

Selection process: Short listed candidates will be called for Campus interview, at their own expense, at centres as notified by IHQ-MoD (Navy)/ Command Headquarters. The screening will be conducted by a Naval Selection Team, and candidates selected during campus interview will be called for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews at Bangalore, Bhopal or Coimbatore between Dec 11 to Apr 12.
